I’m proud to be teaching at the historic Art Students’ League in NYC, a first for me. I’ll be offering a 2-day workshop focusing on establishing structure in a portrait. We’ll begin with 1-2 quick sketches at half scale and then move forward with a 3/4-life scale study for the remainder of the time. The focus will be on finding the relationships in the major boney masses of the face and head, harmonizing the symmetry establishing the proportions and gesture. We’ll work in water-based clay on wooden armatures. The armature kits will be included in the materials fee for the class.

Teaching methods will include demonstrations, discussions and individual feedback. All levels are welcome.
